Wellness Hostel
We’re staying in a new wellness hostel right by the coast – a cosy base for surfing, exploring and winding down after a day outside. Set on Droskyn Point, we’re within walking distance to the surf and have the whole hostel to ourselves, with modern bathrooms, hot showers, self-catering kitchen, fridge-freezer, washing machine and free-wifi. Stay in 4-8 bed dorm rooms, with linen provided.
Unlimited Sauna, Hot Tub and Ice Bath
Use the wellness facilities throughout the weekend, pre-surf, post-surf, whenever you fancy.
Give the cold plunge a go
Cold-water immersion can be a great way to reset after a day in the sea. The initial shock gets the heart rate up and leaves many people feeling energised afterwards. Ice baths are kept at around 2-5 degrees.
Refuel
The laid-back cafe serves coffee, drinks and food with sea views.
Breakfast is included every morning, with pastries on offer. We’ll also have two family dinner nights with wood-fired pizzas and pasta.

Weekend Itinerary
Friday: Arrive from 3pm, settle in and head out on a group explore of the coast. Enjoy a relaxed evening with pizza night and sauna and cold plunge at the hostel.
Saturday: Morning surf, followed by lunch and a 2 hour coastal walk. Back to the hostel for downtime, then sauna and cold plunge before an evening of pumpkin carving and Halloween fancy dress. Pumpkins and carving equipment included, so all you need to do is bring your Halloween outfit.
Sunday: Morning surf, lunch and an afternoon to freely explore Newquay surf shops, cafes and harbour. Enjoy an evening of card games and a movie night.
Monday: One final morning surf, followed by lunch before heading home.
A Little Bit of Autumn… October is one of the best times of the year to surf in Cornwall, with consistent Atlantic swells and uncrowded waves. The weather can be unpredictable so the itinerary isn’t set in stone. Pack your waterproofs and a decent pair of hiking boots incase. If the weather isn’t playing ball for coastal walks, we’ll switch activities around and make the most of our weekend.

Who’s It For?
This trip is for adults who enjoy surfing, being outdoors and meeting new people. All surfing abilities are welcome, and most people come solo — so you definitely don’t need to know anyone beforehand.
Why We Partner With Stoked Surf School
We’ve partnered with Stoked Surf School for the past three years because of their experienced instructors, supportive teaching style, and unbeatable surf shop with quality winter gear. Lessons combine clear theory, plenty of time in the water, and individual feedback during the lesson — with modern changing facilities and hot showers right by the beach.
Whether you’re learning to surf, improving, or just need to hire a board/wetsuit, you’re covered.

Group Size
We’re keeping this trip small and expect around 10–15 guests, so there’s enough people to make it social without it feeling like a huge group.

Getting There & Car Shares
Most people drive to Cornwall, and we’ll organise car shares in the WhatsApp group before the trip so you can find someone to travel with.
Arrival time is 3pm Friday.
- Driving: Head to Droskyn Point, Perranporth. There’s parking at Droskyn car park, with some free parking available on nearby residential streets.
- Train: The closest station is Truro, around 20 minutes away. From there, you can join a car share or take a taxi.
- If you’re unsure about your journey, just drop us a message and we’ll help you figure it out.

General FAQs
Do I need to come with friends?
Not at all. Most people come solo, and the weekend is designed to make it easy to meet people and get involved from the start.
Do I have to take part in everything?
Nope. Everything is optional. Join in with as much or as little as you fancy – they’ll always be time to chill, explore or just enjoy the hostel.
Can I surf elsewhere?
Yes. The hosted groups surf sessions will take place at Perranporth, on an RNLI lifeguarded beach. You’re welcome to surf independently elsewhere during your free time.
What if I’ve never surfed before?
No problem at all. Most people are complete beginners. Our Learn and Progress package includes beginner-friendly group lessons with trusted local instructors, and you’ll be learning alongside others in the group at the same level.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We’ll adapt the plans around the conditions and make the most of the weekend. If conditions are bad we’ll adjust timings where possible or swap in alternative activities, such as escape rooms and Bodmin Jail. In the unlikely event that beaches are closed due to weather conditions, all surf lessons and surf hire will be fully refunded.
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry, no dogs on this trip.
